    Delivering for Wirral South

Conservative candidate Adam Sykes has a track record of standing up for his community and delivering for local residents.

Adam first got involved in local politics when the Labour Council decided to close his local library, firing his passion to stand up for his community.
Whether it be protecting our local Greenbelt, or fighting Labour’s car parking charges, Adam has campaigned for fellow residents.

He has also been vocal in his criticism of the council’s decision to spend £270,000 on a council newspaper.

Adam said, “This is the place I call home, and that means I face many of the same issues as other residents – whether it’s congestion on our roads, litter on our streets or the need for more opportunities for the next generation.”

He added, “That’s why I want to be our area’s next MP. I’ll be the person making the case for more investment in Wirral South and making sure our communities have the services they need to prosper.”

By voting for Adam Sykes, local residents can have a hard-working, experienced local campaigner who will be part of Theresa May’s team providing strong and stable leadership in the national interest.

Adam makes jobs his top priority

Local business owner and Conservative candidate Adam Sykes has made creating job opportunities his top priority.
He said, “With my business background, I know how to create jobs. I also know that by creating more job opportunities helps make a community more vibrant, as more people benefit from the security of a regular income. I’ll use my experience to deliver more jobs for Wirral South.”

Dr Adam Sykes selected as the Conservative candidate for Wirral South

Dr Adam Sykes has been selected as the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Wirral South in the upcoming General Election on June 8.

The businessman, and father of two, who owns his own software company, is a local councillor in Clatterbridge, where he has been instrumental in a number of successful campaigns, including protecting our greenbelt and helping to stop parking charges, which have been a blight on local businesses.

Outside of work Dr Sykes, who lives in Heswall, enjoys travelling, brewing his own beer and is a keen walker.

Commenting on the selection, Dr Sykes said: “I am delighted to have been selected as the candidate for Wirral South and I would be honoured to represent it, working hard in Westminster to be a strong local voice on the issues that matter to our area.

“Among my priorities if elected would be to help ensure that we get the best deal from Brexit.

I am also passionate about education. We have to give children a good start in life, and teach them to aspire to achieve all that they can be.  Having been a school governor for a number of years, I can see a number of improvements that could be made, but they are national issues, and only through influencing government policy could things change.

Thirdly, the big issue facing Great Britain at present is social care.  I believe this has to be taken together with the NHS, as all being part of a spectrum of care need.  With an ageing population, action needs to be taken to tackle the lack of provision and the reliance on hospital beds, which then has knock on effects on the rest of the NHS system.  We have a duty to look after our older generation and to find a way to provide the required services which enable people to retain their independence and dignity.

“Every vote will count in this General Election to help strengthen Theresa May’s negotiating position on Brexit.

So on June 8th, the choice is clear, Theresa May’s Conservative Team providing strong and stable leadership for the United Kingdom, or a divided Labour Party, propped up by a Liberal Democrat, SNP coalition of chaos led by a failed and bumbling Jeremy Corbyn that will put our nation’s future at risk.”

    General Election 2017

    Dear Residents of Wirral South,

The Prime Minister has just announced that a General Election will be held on 8 June – and the government have now taken the necessary steps in Parliament to ensure that this can happen.

Below are reasons why we need an election:

    • We need this election now to secure the strong and stable leadership the country needs to see us through Brexit and beyond.
    • Every vote cast for Theresa May and the Conservatives will strengthen Britain’s hand in the Brexit negotiations.
    • We will stick to our Plan for a Stronger Britain and take the right long-term decisions for a more secure future.
    • The choice is between strong and stable leadership in the national interest with Theresa May and the Conservatives – or weak and unstable coalition government led by Jeremy Corbyn.

In the coming weeks, we will be knocking on your doors, asking your views, delivering you details of the Conservatives Plan for a Stronger Britain and calling on your help to put a strong government in place to see us through Brexit and beyond.

Together we can return a Conservative MP for Wirral South, and I look forward to working with you to get this result.

    Dr Adam Sykes
